It has been reported that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. is delaying its Request For Proposal for the province’s northern bundle, which includes Sudbury, home to the half-mile Sudbury Downs oval.
An article by northernlife.ca has quoted OLG spokesman Tony Bitonti as saying that the RFP for the northern bundle is “going to happen,” but he is unsure of when it will be issued.
The northern gaming zone will include Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay and Kenora, and the selected gaming operator will run all of the gambling facilities in the zone.
The report has cited Bitonti as saying that the OLG is now planning on waiting for the RFP process for the province’s eastern bundle to be completed before it deals with the northern bundle.
