Pan From Nantucket, driven by Eric Goodell, rebounded from a rare poor effort Saturday night, winning Yonkers Raceway's $37,000 Open Handicap Pace.

Content to watch early from post position No. 5, Pan From Nantucket was sixth as Fred And Ginger (George Brennan) worked past Live On (Jordan Stratton) right at the :27.2 opening quarter-mile. Dream Out Loud N (Brent Holland) just about bolted from a four-hole, seemingly with some equipment issues.

It was a :55-second half before slight 2-1 choice Keystone Velocity (Dan Dube) moved from fifth toward a 1:23.1 three-quarters. 'Nantucket' was second-over, with China Grill (Pat Lachance) behind that one.

Fred And Ginger owned a length and three-quarter lead in the lane, but Pan From Nantucket was in his sights. The latter whipped the former by three-quarters of a length in a life-best 1:51.3. P H Supercam (Jason Bartlett), last early from assigned eight-hole, rallied for third (after four consecutive wins), with Keystone Velocity and China Grill rounding out the payees.

Pan From Nantucket, a five-year-old No Pan Intended gelding owned by Blindswitch Racing and trained by Jose Godinez, returned $11.80 (third choice) for his eighth win in 30 seasonal starts. Last week's fade-to-fifth snapped seven consecutive board finishes. The exacta paid $95, with the triple returning $798.
