Vernon Downs leading drivers Chris Long and Leon Bailey tied for top honours of the night as each reinsman won five races on the 13-dash card on Friday, Oct. 31.
As the night began, Long won the first three races with Midnight Carrie ($3.30) for trainer Chris McCracken, Dapper Fashion ($4.32) for Michelle Warner and Quarrel ($6.16) for Rob Harmon.
Bailey then won race four with a Warner trainee, Ocean Blue ($4.70).
Long's next victory was in race six with another Harmon trainee, as Sweet Valley ($3.42) won the featured $11,972 Open Handicap Trot by two lengths in 1:58.3 over the 'good' track.
Bailey answered back winning the next two races with Chillax De Vie ($4.92) for conditioner Gary Gibson and Shop Micki ($6.52) for Joseph Skowyra then added another victory in the 10th race with Gibson trainee Double My Chips ($12.32).
Long then won his fifth in race 11 with Wondrous Blue Chip ($3.94) to complete a training triple for Harmon.
Bailey was back in the winner's circle for his fifth appearance after the last race of the night with Girlonthebillboard ($4.64), who is trained by Leopold Sawyers.
Long now has 98 wins this season with Bailey still four behind with 94 with just five racing cards left.
The next card is Saturday, Nov. 1, with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
