Roll With Joe is one of six three-year-olds -- four colts and two geldings -- that have been entered for Yonkers Raceway's Messenger Stakes
.
The $401,000 Messenger, the final leg of the Pacing Triple Crown, will take place Saturday, November 12.
Roll With Joe, a son of Cams Card Shark, captured the $1-million Meadowlands Pace earlier this year. He has five wins, four seconds a pair of third in 13 starts this season. He captured Chester Racetrack's $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine and was beaten a lip in last weekend's $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Pace at Woodbine Racetrack. Roll With Joe also finished second in the $252,864 final of the Little Brown Jug.
'Joe,' who is trained by Ed Hart, is co-owned by (breeder) Winbak Farm, Blue Chip Bloodstock, Stephen Demeter and the Not To Worry Stable. Driver Ron Pierce has the assignment for the colt's second Yonkers appearance, the first being a mid-October qualifier.
Also in is New York Sire Stakes champ Mojo Terror, who has hit the wire first more than a dozen times this season. The gelded son of Western Terror is trained by Chris Oakes for Bulletproof Enterprises. Brian Sears is the listed driver.
The remainder of Messenger half-dozen includes Keystone Velocity (to be driven by Dan Dube), Rollwithitharry (Ron Pierce), Sea Venture (Jason Bartlett) and Sir Ziggys Z Tam (Pat Lachance).
The companion event to the Messenger, the Lady Maud Pace, closed with four sophomore fillies entered. Alphabetically, the entrants are City Delight, Krispy Apple, New Album and Rocklamation. George Brennan has been listed to drive each filly except Rocklamation (Brian Sears).
The Maud, worth $184,890, will also be raced as a lone dash Saturday, November 12.
Post positions will be determined next Tuesday, November 8 as part of the usual Saturday draw.
