Woodmere Ideal Art was a popular winner in his latest start and now heads to the Tuesday (Oct. 10) evening featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Western P.E.I. track has 14 dashes set to go Tuesday with a 6 p.m. opening post time.
The feature of the night lines up in race 13 for a $3,000 pot with Ken Murphy retaining the drive on Woodmere Ideal Art from post three after winning last time out in 1:55.3 for trainer Sifroi Melanson and owner Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.
Frontier Cruise (Corey MacPherson) has rail control in the event after third-place finishes in his last four starts. KD Overdrive (Kyle Mason) ships in for the feature after racing the summer months on the Maine Fair Circuit with a 1:58 win on Sept. 22 at the Farmington Fair with Walter Case Jr., in the race bike.
The "Backstretch Beat" has Woodmere Ideal Art on top in the Tuesday feature: “We picked Woodmere Ideal Art to win in Charlottetown and he delivered going wire to wire in 1:55.3. We’re thinking the game plan will be the same so it could be catch me if you can.”
Also in the featured field are Risin Horizon (Darren Crowe), Flowersonthebeach (Dale Spence) and Sauble Attack (David Dowling).
Race two of the day is the $2,450 Uncle George Lynch Memorial with Mill Pond Cheyenne the top choice from the Lee Johnson barn of Nova Scotia. Spence drives the four-year-old daughter of Immachulate from post three. Other top entries are Quick Glance (Crowe) and Rollwithitdarling (MacPherson).
The $2,250 Kevin Gillis Memorial in race six has Skip Across selected on top from post two for the team of driver Murphy, co-owner and trainer Stanley Harper and co-owner Tara Harper.
