Beat Cop ($2.20) and Tim Tetrick were 1:55 winners in the $110,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) final for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Monday (Oct. 9) at Harrington Raceway.
Owned by P T Stable, the Dragon King gelding swept his eliminations impressively and was a confident first-over winner on Monday over Papas Son and Cavalli Island for his third straight win. Tetrick drove Beat Cop first-over near three-quarters as he steadily gained on leader Papas Son and opened up on the field in deep stretch. Trained by Crissy Crissman-Bier, Beat Cop earned his sixth lifetime win in nine starts.
In the $50,000 Bobby Quillen, Itsrockandroll A ($2.40) won his eighth straight race in 1:54 with Allan Davis in the bike. Owned by Elizabeth and Bret Brittingham, the eight-year-old A Rocknroll Dance gelding led throughout and pulled away confidently in the stretch over Mack and Stag Party. Trained by Don Brittingham, he boosted his seasonal earnings to nearly $150,000.
Corey Callahan had five winners on the card.
Live harness racing at Harrington Raceway will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule until Oct. 18. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
