Louis-Philippe Roy went on another Sunday winning crusade at Rideau Carleton Raceway, as he reeled off six consecutive victories to open the October 9 card of harness racing and then added two more for good measure to close out the night.
Roy won five races last Sunday and added eight more this evening to pad his narrow lead atop the local driver standings. Having driven 107 winners this year at Rideau, Roy now holds a seven-win lead over Guy Gagnon after his latest driving clinic.
Roy earned victories in the first three races by a margin of a neck or less with Norvena Hanover ($4) for trainer Sebastien Giroux, Draft Hanover ($5.30) for the Philippe Laframboise stable and repeat winner Torches Angel ($3.50) for conditioner Yves Tessier. He also drove Antar Phil ($10.20) to victory for John Macmillan, and then the streaking Dali On Up ($2.20) and Playin For Keeps ($4) to give Giroux and Tessier training doubles.
Roy later capped off his standout night with victories in the 11th race aboard My Buddy Mason ($2.80) for Jean Beaulieu and the finale with Ronald Charette's Officially Rusty ($4).
