A solid group of seven faced the starting gate in Monday evening’s $11,000 Preferred Pace at Grand River Raceway, and Machal Jackson proved to be far too much for the competition to handle in the featured tilt.

With J.R. Plante at the lines, Machal Jackson battled with Major Stone to the quarter pole in :27 before that foe accepted the pocket trip. Machal Jackson knifed out middle fractions of :55.1 and 1:23.3 before using a :29.2 closing panel to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Wild Dragon in 1:53. Third prize went to Roman Rocks.

Isaac Waxman trains the four-year-old son of Mach Three-Warrawee Cammy for Brenda Selwyn Waxman of Dundas and Yin Yee Wong of Oakville, ON. The victory was the pacer’s seventh of the season and his tenth career tally. The lion’s share of the purse helped lift his lifetime earnings to $431,616.
