Lous World, making his first appearance at Flamboro Downs since finishing third in the 2025 Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup, came three-wide down the back to capture the $14,500 Horses and Geldings Preferred Pace on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Lous World was away fifth from the second-tier post nine and enjoyed a mid-pack seat behind stout early fractions. Smiling Dancer (Wayne MacLean) drove on along the rim to reach the front at the quarter in :27.1, but Sportsline (Samuel Fillion) promptly circled back to command and reached the half in :56.

Lous World shifted second-over in front of the stands but was still stuck fifth on the backside, forcing a three-high move by Damian MacLellan to three-quarters in 1:24.1. He launched into second on the last turn and stepped past Sportsline through the stretch to score in 1:54. Boothill Hudy (Travis Cullen) surged from the back to snatch second over Sportsline, 1-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

The Garry Merner-trained Sportsline is now five-for-27 this year for owner Gino Toscani of Mount Hope, Ont. The five-year-old son of Sweet Lou-World Apart has racked up 17 career wins and $372,560 in earnings from 82 lifetime outings. He paid $6.40 to win.
