Machnhope was victorious in her return to Harrah's Philadelphia, winning Wednesday afternoon's (Oct. 7) featured $14,000 distaff handicap pace in 1:50.2.
Andy McCarthy tucked the daughter of Mach Three behind an early duel between Caviart Cherie and Imprincessgemma A through a :26.3 first quarter before working to claim the lead through a :55 half. Machnhope called the tune from there, passing three-quarters in 1:22.1 and drawing off to win by five lengths.
Trainer Noel Daley co-owns Machnhope with Deo Volente Farms, Thomas Pontone and L A Express Stable.
After winning a recent Liberty Bell division, Dance Club posted a repeat win in a sub-featured $12,800 distaff pace, fronting her rivals from early on and winning by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:52.4. George Brennan drove for trainer Ron Burke. The other sub-feature, an $11,600 upper-level distaff, saw Apple Hanover deliver a wire-to-wire victory in 1:51.3. Marcus Miller drove the Katricia Adams trainee.
McCarthy and Brennan tied for top honours among drivers with three wins each.
