Dream Together Breaks Out Of Slump

Wins have been tough to come by this season for the classy mare Dream Together, but she capitalized on a perfect trip in Monday’s featured trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park and sped to a sharp score in 1:52.3 for driver Bob McClure.

Dream Together marched right to the lead from Post 8, and she had eight foes behind her through an opening quarter trotted in :27.3. Royal Witch powered out of the three-hole when the field hit the backstretch, and after muscling past Dream Together she went on to lead the field to the half in :55.3.

She continued to be the boss past the three-quarter marker in 1:23.3, but she didn’t have the stamina to finish them off. Dream Together popped the pocket in the lane and fired past Royal Witch to post the win. Royal Witch was a brave runner-up, with third money going to Sortie.

The victory was the first of the season from 14 starts for the five-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill-Danae. The Luc Blais trainee, who is owned by Determination of Montreal, QC, is now a 15-time winner to date. The $12,500 payday bumped her lifetime earnings to $873,450.
