The third session of the Lexington Select Yearling Sale took place Thursday evening in Kentucky, and six more yearlings fetched final bids in excess of $100,000 including the session topper, Magic Carpet Glide.
Sold as Hip 315 Magic Carpet Glide was purchased for $175,000 by agent Robert Lindstrom for SRF Stable of Boden, Sweden. The Kadabra filly is the first foal out of Cha Cha Glide. She’s a half-sister to this year’s Peter Haughton Memorial winner, What The Hill (1:54.4 - $251,253).
Hip 275 Night Rhythm was a $160,000 purchase by Greathorse MA of Enfield, CT. The son of Muscle Hill-Tail Of Night is a half-brother to Machuca (1:56.3 - $101,505).
Hip 273 Sevenmaidsadancing went to Crawford Racing LLC of Syracuse, NY for $150,000. The daughter of Chapter Seven is the second foal our of Surrey With Fringe – a half-sister to Tall Cotton (1:51.3 - $804,370).
A total of 145 yearlings went through the ring during Thursday’s third session. Total sales for the third session were $6,066,000, with the average price working out to be $41,834. The overall three-day total sales total climbed to $27,669,000 for an average price of $73,198.
