Sauble Attack delivered a front-end masterpiece in the featured event on Monday evening, Oct. 6 at Red Shores Summerside Raceway.
The $4,300 feature in the 10th race went to Sauble Attack ($8.00) and driver Ken Murphy, who had command every step for trainer Paul Biggar, co-owner of the Bettors Delight-Ambrosia Seelster gelding with Donald Callbeck of Summerside, P.E.I. The seven-year-old pacer clicked off fractions of :28, :58.1 and 1:27.1 before closing out the mile in 1:55.2, holding off pocket-sitter Howmac Maximus (Paul Langille) and a surging Doc Awesome (Corey MacPherson).
David Dowling had the hot hands on the evening, guiding three winners to victory. The Cornwall, P.E.I. native clicked early with Canvas Of Stars ($2.40) in the second race for trainer Chris Davies, wiring her field in 1:56.3. He later found the winner’s circle with Elm Grove Penney ($7.70) in race seven for Luke Burke, sweeping up in 1:57.4, then capped his triple with Howmac Charmer ($9) in race eight for Kyle Williams.
Racing continues on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Red Shores Charlottetown with an 11-dash program set for 6 p.m. start time. A competitive field of seasoned pacers will line up for Tuesday evening’s top event. The $4,300 feature brings together a quality field of overnight pacers with Impeccable Shadow getting top billing for trainer/driver Paul Langille. The Shadow Play five-year-old is looking for his third win of the season and his 18th lifetime when he lines up from post two.
