A confident Guido Di pulled the pocket entering the final turn and drew away in the stretch to capture the feature on Friday, Oct. 6 at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 conditioned trot.
Guido Di was stalking the favourite, Cando Volo, when Brady Brown sensed it was time to unleash the four-year-old Wishing Stone-Focus On Me gelding. Guido Di responded by gobbling up Cando Volo and scoring in 1:54.4 over a “good” surface, 1-1/2 lengths better than the rallying Keeper Of Secrets. Swan Legacy finished third.
Steve Schoeffel trains Guido Di, who lifted his career bankroll to $256,201, for Virginia Schoeffel, Kathy Schoeffel, Marian Schilling and Lewis Falton.
Dave Palone and Mike Wilder each piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, Oct. 11 when the program features a $373.76 carryover in the Pick 5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
