St Lads Thriller ($13.10) lived up to his name in Wednesday night's (Oct. 6) $13,000 Preferred 2 Pace at Flamboro Downs, capping a grand slam for trainer Jodie Cullen and giving driver Travis Cullen one of five wins on the 11-race card.

St Lads Thriller gunned to the lead from post 4 before yielding control to Ideal Perception (Anthony Haughan) on the backstretch. After stalking spritely fractions of :27.1, :55.4 and 1:23.4 over fast going, St Lads Thriller angled off the pegs in the final furlong and nabbed Ideal Perception in the absolute final stride of a 1:52.4 mile. Brave World (Jason Ryan) was a ground-saving third, two lengths in arrears of the top pair.

Jodie Cullen trains St Lads Thriller, whose three wins this season have all come in his last five starts, for Rebecca Williamson. The five-year-old Mach Three gelding has now won 12 times in his career and has amassed over $102,000 in career earnings.

The Cullens also teamed up to win with Millies Million ($2.10, 1:54.2), Outlaw Gunpowder ($4.60, 1:58.1) and Big Mach N ($6.40, 1:53.4), while Travis Cullen completed his five-win night in the bike with Rachel Andrew trainee Billy Bayama ($2.70, 1:57).
