Motorino came to Charlottetown and he meant business. The five-year-old left hard from post 6 and never looked back en route to a 1:56.2 score in the Thursday feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Terry Gallant was in the bike for the black gelding’s seventh win of the season for co-owner Eric Johnston of Summerside, PE. Eagle Jolt (Marc Campbell) was second with Likely To Win (Adam Merner) third.
Motorino paid $17.20 to win.
Driver Kenny Arsenault was successful in two of three trot classes on the card.
Frill Seeker went the distance in 1:59.4 while his other stable star, Howmacs Pride, rallied in 2:01.4. Wedgewood was a three-length winner in the $1,700 trot division for Gary Chappell and trainer Glen Claybourne of Charlottetown, PE.
In other action, Don MacNeill enjoyed his birthday celebrations with a driving double. MacNeill used front-end tactics on both victories aboard Jamantha and Nashurallability on the card.
