Hambletonian and Canadian Trotting Classic champion Market Share took a new lifetime mark of 1:50.3 in a $10,000 Late Closer on Saturday afternoon at The Red Mile.
With Tim Tetrick in the sulky, the Linda Toscano-trained Market Share sat third through panels of :27.4, :55.4, and 1:23.3 before unleashing a :26.3 final frame to sweep by the leaders for the three and a half length victory. Pocket-sitter Prayer Session (Ron Pierce) finished second and pacesetter Lightning Storm (Corey Callahan) finished over seven lengths back in third.
The heavy 1-9 favourite paid $2.10 to win.
Market Share, who was not eligible to this weekend's Kentucky Futurity, is being pointed to the Breeders Crown.
The millionaire Revenue S colt is owned by Richard Gutnick, the T L P Stable, and William Augustine.
