Since being added to the Lasix program Twin B Warrior has shown improvement, and on Tuesday evening he celebrated the biggest victory of his career
.
The Jeff Gillis trainee swept off cover for driver Randy Waples en route to capturing the $130,000 O.S.S. Gold Series Final for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings at Windsor Raceway.
Twin B Warrior was allowed to settle off a wild early pace which was set by Big Bay Point (Robert Shepherd). That son of Camluck, who started from post nine, hammered out panels of :26.2, :54.1 and 1:22 before coming under attack from a host of challengers.
Waples swung Twin B Warrior off cover and used a :28-second final frame to win the rich event by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:50.3 over last year’s Super Final champ Code Word (Chris Christoforou), with third prize going to race favourite Mach Dreamer (Rick Zeron). It was a career-best clocking for the gelded son of Apaches Fame-What An Attitude, and the mile matched Magical GG's track record for three-year-old pacing geldings.
Mac Nichol of Burlington, ON holds the ownership papers on Twin B Warrior, who found his way to the winner’s circle for the third time this season and for the sixth time in his career. The victory boosted the gelding’s bankroll to $410,981.
