Leamington Raceway's leading trainer Cameron McQueen won with all four of his Sunday afternoon starters on Oct. 4.
McQueen teamed up with driver Nick Steward for four wins on the 10-race card, including his male claiming pacers Thunderbolt Run and Livin Large. Thunderbolt Run ($5.10) took off from a pocket trip to win the second race by half a dozen lengths in 1:58.1 while Livin Large ($4.40) battled first-over through the final lap to score his 14th victory of the season in 1:59.3 by 1-1/4 lengths in the sixth race.
In the next race, Remember The Beach ($4.40) wired the field of conditioned optional claiming pacers, winning by a length in 1:57.3. McQueen trains the winner for Dale Betts of Emsdale, Ont.
McQueen's final winner was the claiming distaff pacer Grand Circuit ($4.40), who re-took the lead after the opening panel and won the ninth race by 1-3/4 lengths in a two-minute mile. The London, Ont. based trainer shares ownership of the mare with John McQueen of Port Huron, Michigan.
McQueen's successful quartet boosted his meet-leading win total to 15, giving the track's defending training champion a seven-win advantage on runner-up Michael Stamp. He now has 65 victories overall this season in the midst of his sixth year of training and 410 victories lifetime.
