Pick Pocket won as he pleased in the feature on Thursday, Oct. 31 at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $18,056 conditioned trot, as part of a training grand slam for Tim Twaddle.
Pick Pocket engaged the leader, Distant Drums, at the top of the lane, only to see that rival jump it off. With no other horses in striking position when the anticipated stretch duel never materialized, the three-year-old son of Walner-Cant Have My Moni jogged home in 1:54.4, 1-3/4 lengths better than Lite The Candles, with Big Baller Beane third at 59-1.
Twaddle trains Pick Pocket, who boosted his lifetime bankroll to $214,945, for TheStable Pick Pocket Group. It was one of four wins for Twaddle — three with MacDonald aboard — on the 13-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues Friday, Nov. 1 when the 13-race program gets underway at 12:45 p.m.
