According to a report, a 21-year-old driver has been jailed for four and a half years after assaulting a racing official
at York Harness Raceway, located in a North Yorkshire district in England.
The yorkpress.co.uk states that the driver, John Harrop, repeatedly whipped John Delaney with his whip after the reinsman had been asked to leave the track.
The report states that Harrop had been on bail from a prior non-racing incident in which he bit a part of a man's ear off and punched a female in the ribs.
