According to a report by Harness Tracks of America, Dover Downs, which had started to build a new sportsbook in anticipation of expanded gambling in the state, has pulled back as a result of the unfavourable appeals court
decision which has limited sports betting to single bets on National Football League games.
Dover is writing off $2.2 million spent for early work on the project, as gaming revenue fell below expectations, dropping 5.78 per cent in the third quarter.
Dover has also halted construction on a new parking garage directly in relation to the unfavourable decision.
