The Ford Summit Series for $6,000 claiming pacers continued on Sunday evening at Georgian Downs with another full card of $5,000 divisions.
Schooner ($7.90) was the only repeat winner in the series for driver James MacDonald and trainer Bruce Goit. The four-year-old son of Americal Ideal romped to a 1:56.4 five length victory in the seventh race over the 'good' surface.
MacDonald also won with Jason McGinnis trainee Grissini ($4.80) in 1:55.4 and the Kathryn Cochrane-conditioned Noble Seelster ($9.70) in 1:57.3.
Drivers Jonathan Drury and Sylvain Filion and trainer Rene Allard also earned multiple wins on the card. Drury scored with My Fella ($3.60) in 1:55.1 for Carmen Auciello and Its Yours ($21.20) in 1:57.4 for Georgios Antoniou. Filion won with Rock Of Luck ($8.10) in 1:56.3 for Dale Heard and Spacehill ($8.50) in 1:57.4 for Rene Allard, who also doubled up with Tyler Moore steering You Gotta See This ($7.30) to a 1:56.3 triumph in another split.
Charlotte Hohner's Digam ($90.70) pulled off the biggest upset of the night as he rallied home from fifth to prevail in 1:58 with Scott Young at the helm. Another big payoff was produced when Hobbys Hobbit ($43.10), driven by Gerry Belanger for trainer Philippe Belanger, rallied home from last to place, but inherited the victory at long odds when the favourite, first leg winner Hidden Hall, was set back to last for causing interference.
The other division winners were Blissed Out ($11.80) and Scott Coulter in 1:56.1 for William Slack and Ml Gambler ($4.90) and Billy Davis Jr. in 1:56.3 for Leonard Lalonde Jr.
The pacers will return to Georgian Downs next Sunday, Nov. 4 for the third leg of the series.
