The Ford Summit Series for $6,000 trotting claimers continued on Saturday at Georgian Downs with Dabrina once again turning in the fastest mile of the night.
Dabrina ($2.60) front-stepped her way to a 1:59 three and three-quarter length victory in the fastest $5,000 division. The victory followed up an 11-1/2 length score in 1:57.4 during the opening leg of the series last weekend. Carmen Auciello was in the bike again for trainer Wai Man Yeung, who also co-owns with Rocco Auciello. The four-year-old Kadabra mare will look to keep her series streak in tact next week for new owner Mike Wassilyn, who claimed her for $9,000.
Also doubling up in the series were eight-year-old gelding Royal King ($4.30) with a 1:59.4 career-best equalling score for driver Scott Coulter and conditioner Rob Fellows and Keith Jones trainee Moblessinsdinblues ($9.50) with a 2:01.1 winning effort in rein to Anthony MacDonald.
The other round two winners were: Northern Mistral ($4) in 1:59.3 for driver Dan Clements and trainer Marty Fine; All In Gass ($29.50) in 2:01 for Jonathan Drury and conditioner Roger Ferguson; and Jimmy Shin ($6.50) in 2:00.1 with Steve Byron driving for trainer Yvons Duclos.
The trotting series continues next Saturday, Nov. 3 while the pacing series picks up on Sunday, Oct. 28 with its second leg.
