Driver Lorne House delivered five of his charges to victory lane on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at The Raceway at the Western Fair District, taking his seasonal win total to career-best territory.
He opened the card by sweeping the early double, first overseeing the second career win from 19 starts for his trainee, Tf Thunderstruck ($8). The three-year-old son of Dancin Lou-Lets Rock N Roll was dominant in a 1:58.4 score, going all the way for owner Angela Clark of Dutton, Ont.
House took the second race in a 16-1 upset in 1:58.3 with Newtownstreetbomb ($34.90). As the battling leaders hooked wheels briefly down the backstretch, House pulled the sophomore son of Believeinbruiser-Dear Vicky three-wide, and Newtownstreetbomb grinded to victory through the final quarter for his third win in 23 lifetime outings for trainer Ryan Steward and owner Triple S Equine of Newton, Ont.
Pembrook Legacy N ($4.90) gave House a driving triple and training double in the fourth race, cutting the mile for a 1:56.2 score. The 13-year-old Bettors Delight-Pembrook Milly Mae gelding, owned by Nancey Taylor of Lucan, Ont., won for the 30th time in 141 career outings.
House then gave three-year-old Mcwicked-Imthebig Star gelding Carsons Wicked One ($2.10) a maiden-breaking steer in the fifth race for trainer George McClure. Carsons Wicked One shuffled to the top past the quarter and led through the remainder, winning in 2:00.4 in his 14th start. Catherine McClure of Clinton, Ont. owns the gelding.
Arundel Hanover ($43.90) upset at 20-1 to complete the House five-pack. The Greg Campbell trainee came out of the three-hole entering the backstretch and muscled past the pacesetter in a final-quarter duel to prevail in 1:56.1. The five-year-old Betting Line-Australia Hanover gelding is now nine-for-40 lifetime for Greg Campbell of London, Ont. and Terrance Campbell of Grand Bend, Ont.
With Tuesday’s haul, House grew his 2026 tally to 147 wins in 903 starts, surpassing his previous best seasonal total of 144 from 2015. The reinsman captured driving titles at Hiawatha Horse Park and Clinton Raceway this year and has also racked up $1 million in earnings for the first time, while passing the $10 million career money milestone in August.
