Eagle Jolt Repeats In Charlottetown

Eagle Jolt overcame post 8 and fired a closing panel of :27.4 to win the Thursday night feature for the second week in a row at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Marc Campbell, who notched his 113th win of the season at the city oval with a driving triple on the program to take a commanding lead in the driver standings, was in the bike for the 1:57.3 victory behind Eagle Jolt for owners Wilbur and Marie MacDonald of Orwell Cove, PE. Forever Paradise was second, with fraction setter Doing Some Damage third.

The trotters were showcased on three occasions on the program.

Phantom Beau and driver Mark Bradley won the first class while Frill Seeker, with Gordie Hennessey catch-driving, won his assignment and Osprey Impact captured the Open Trot for Corey MacPherson and owner-trainer Paul Larrabee of Bell River, PE.

Driver Mike McGuigan recorded a driving double on the final Thursday night card.

Racing returns Saturday with the Island Breeders Championship Finals at 6 p.m. while Sunday is the final card of the 2016 season at Red Shores Summerside. Post time is 1 p.m.
