Freemans Legacy is the 5-2 morning line favourite in the featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The Prince County oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT) with the featured $6,600 Winners Over conditioned pace lining up in race 13.
Freemans Legacy headlines the compact field of five from post two with Jaycob Sweet handling the driving and training duties for owner Mackenzie Arsenault of Alberton, P.E.I. The five-year-old son of Pang Shui-Camco Terra has eight victories this season, including a 1:55.1 triumph on Oct. 13 in this same class plus two other top three finishes this month.
Air Force Hanover is the 3-1 morning line second choice from post four with Gilles Barrieau in the driver’s seat for trainer Ronald Matheson and owner Woodmere Farms of Marshfield, P.E.I. The 10-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Allamerican Cognac has four wins this season including a 1:53.4 score at Red Shores Charlottetown earlier this year. He will look to rebound from a fifth-place finish that ended a four-race streak in his latest outing against tough competition at Charlottetown.
Last week's winner Doc Awesome is the 7-2 third choice and will leave from post three searching for a repeat victory with Corey MacPherson driving. Darla MacEachern trains and co-owns the six-year-old son of All Bets Off-Direct Macawesome with local co-owner Mike Cameron.
Sauble Attack has rail control with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Paul Biggar and co-owner Donald Callbeck of Summerside, P.E.I. The eight-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Ambrosia Seelster was a Summerside winner two back and a runner-up last time out before rising to this class, where he is listed at 4-1 on the morning line.
Brookdale Johnny rounds out the compact field from post five with Paul Langille driving for trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley Sr., and Doug Polley Jr., of Amherst, N.S. The six-year-old son of Rockin In Heaven-Brookdale Gia, who won the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Gold Series final last month, was beaten just a half-length by Doc Awesome in this class last week.
The "Post Time Picks" has selected Air Force Hanover to come out on top of the five-horse field: “Air Force Hanover has been tackling some tough customers in Charlottetown and now returns to Summerside where he has enjoyed plenty of success. He has the speed to control this compact field and Barrieau knows exactly how to get the most out of this veteran pacer. We think he gets back to his winning ways in the Tuesday night feature.”
