Just Zip It Zips Through For Feature Win

Shuffled to fifth into the final turn, Just Zip It found a late seam, charged through and captured Tuesday’s co-feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 filly & mare conditioned pace.

It seemed that Just Zip It was destined for no more than a minor award. But in mid-stretch, Brady Brown steered her off the cones to a late-developing path. The six-year-old daughter of Chayenne Rei-Roca Suave zipped through willingly and scored in 1:54 in the slop, a head better than the pacesetting Hillbilly Kisses. Spanish Dream completed the ticket.

Sarah Andrews trains Just Zip It, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $163,178, for Casey Myers.

In Tuesday’s companion feature, a $10,300 filly & mare conditioned trot, Luvcrunchess opened a daylight lead late and collected an in-hand 1:57.2 win for Aaron Merriman, trainer Steven Walters and owner PT Stable.

Aaron Merriman and Dave Palone each collected three wins on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday when the 12-race program features a $1,374.45 carryover in the Pick 5 (Race 7). First post is 12:45 p.m.
