Truro Raceway Chairman Anthony Stymest has tendered his resignation, effective immediately, from the Truro Raceway Board of Directors.
Stymest tendered his resignation after Truro Raceway received notification on Tuesday that its application was denied for a Judicial Review seeking to overturn a decision by the Atlantic Harness Racing Commission (APHRC) last December, in relation to Home Market Area boundaries for telephone account betting (HPIbet) within Nova Scotia.
“It has been my pleasure to serve on the board since 2018. However, with the recent court decision, I am no longer able to commit my volunteer time," said Stymest. "I wish the organization only the best in the future.”
Stymest has been the only Chairman that Truro Raceway Limited has ever had, being the chair since the company was formed in 2018.
“Horsepeople owe Anthony a huge debt of gratitude for his selfless contribution to helping keep Truro Raceway operating," said Steve Fitzsimmons, Truro Raceway General Manager. "We wish Anthony the very best with his future endeavours.”
