Sophomore pacer Big Teddy defeated older foes in the $8,500 Lakeshore Cup, leading all the way for driver Tyler Borth.

Big Teddy took control of the seven-horse field into the first turn with the inside post advantage and clocked fractions of :28, :58 and 1:27 en route to the 1:57 victory. Millenium Seelster (Scott Wray) followed one length behind in second and it was nearly five lengths back to third-place finisher Livin Large (Garrett Rooney) after his first-over journey.

Tyler Nostadt trains the Big Jim-Lucky Louisa gelding, who notched his third win in a row, for Blueshoe Investments.

Coming off a victory in Leamington's Preferred 4 class last weekend, Big Teddy paid $3.50 to win as the 3-5 favourite.

Winless in his seven-race debut season with three runner-up finishes in the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots program, Big Teddy has now won six of his 16 sophomore starts to double his bankroll, which stands at $45,387.

Nostadt also drove his trainee SOS Justified to a 1:59.4 victory during the Sunday card for Blueshoe Investments. The nine-year-old gelding stretched his win streak to six and defeated his main rival Windsong Napolean for the fifth consecutive time in the $4,200 pace for $7,000 claimers.
