Tim Tetrick made a rare appearance at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday evening, and 'The Bionic Man' made the most of the road trip thanks to a win with Prodigal Seelster in the $170,000 O.S.S. Gold Series Final for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings

Prodigal Seelster, who hadn’t had his picture taken since his 1:50 triumph in his elimination of the Metro Pace at Mohawk Racetrack on August 28, romped to a an easy victory in his Sunday evening assignment over what turned out to be a sloppy surface.
Some Mach Some Win (Denis St. Pierre) rolled to the early lead, but Tetrick and Prodigal Seelster were out and driving as the splashed by the quarter pole in :28.2. Prodigal Seelster was released without much of a tussle, and that allowed Tetrick to grab a :30-second breather on the way to the mid-way point. When the half flashed up in :58.2, it was game over for Prodigal Seelster’s pacing counterparts.
The son of Camluck-Platinum Seelster kicked out a :28.1 third quarter, which put the field at the third marker in 1:26.3. A :28.4 final quarter was more than enough for Prodigal Seelster to cement the victory in 1:55.2. It was 2-1/2 lengths back to runner-up Cam B Zipper (Mark MacDonald) and third-place finisher Some Mach Some Win.
Larry Menary, Denis Breton, Kenneth Ewen and the Double Or Nothing Stables share ownership on the five-time winner, who has banked $329,455 in his nine-start rookie campaign.
The victory was a crucial one for Prodigal Seelster, who entered Sunday’s tilt with just 26 points in the Gold Series standings. The 50 points earned on Sunday saw him go from being ranked 15th to being tied for eighth in the standings.
