Post 10 No Problem For Itstimetogohome

Despite starting from one of the post positions that yields the least amount of winners in trotting races at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Itstimetogohome overcame his unfavourable starting spot to win the Friday night (Oct. 22) feature, a $20,000 conditioned trot.

Itstimetogohome overcome his outside post position as he cleared to command at the quarter pole in :28 for driver Louis-Philippe Roy. The three-year-old trotting gelding continued to lead the field through a half in :57.4 and three-quarters in 1:27.3 then held off the late pocket-puller Rowlen (Scott Young) by a nose in 1:55.4. Mystic (Chris Christoforou), the 8-5 favourite, closed off cover to finish third over Modern Mass (Roger Mayotte).

Itstimetogohome returned $10 to win as the 4-1 third choice.

Itstimetogohome, who was unraced as a two-year-old, earned his fifth win from a dozen starts this year and lifted his bankroll to $38,870. Richard Moreau trains the Creatine-Wake Up Susie gelding for owners Ecurie Csl, Gaston Bibeau and Jean Dessureault.

Only 5.2 per cent of winners on the trot at Mohawk have come from post 10 between June 11 to October 18 -- that accounts for just seven winners from 134 starts. Only post 11 has less, starting 12 non-winners during the same time frame.
