The Barrie Ford Summit Series for $6,000 claiming trotters continued on Saturday night at Georgian Downs with six $5,600 fourth leg divisions in which seven-year-old mare Spurofthehauer turned in her third series win
.
Spurofthehauer survived a first over journey to win her division in 1:58.3 for driver Anthony Haughan and trainer Chris Yates. The daughter of Pegasus Spur won her first two divisions and finished second last week while racing for trainer Joe Agostino and owner Brad Gray. She was claimed for $7,500 during the third round by Wilbert Weatherall of Flesherton, Ont. and joined Chris Yates' barn.
Also making return appearances to the winner's circle were: Leonidas De Vie and driver Mark Etsell in 1:58.4 (a second leg winner); E L Miss Pom and Simon Allard in 1:58.1 (a third leg winner); Coup Sur and driver Robert Fenech in 1:59.1 (a third leg winner); and Tijuana Tag and Dan Clements in 2:01.2 (a first leg winner).
Scrappy Wallace, driven by Scott Coulter, recorded his first victory in the series and was the fastest winner of the night in 1:57.4.
