It was a ‘go to the front and don’t look back’ approach used by Senior Market in Monday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and it worked!
Senior Market was hustled to the lead from Post 3 by driver Michael Whelan, and together they led the field through fractions of :28, :58.1 and 1:26.2 before scooting home in :28.3 to win by three lengths over Ufdragons Rocket in 1:55. The show dough went to Upgrade Valley.
Rebecca Titus trains the seven-year-old son of Blissfull Hall-Honeycakes for partners Steven Titus and Frank Gallo. The gelding is a four-time winner this year and a 20-time winner to date. He’s banked more than $175,000 in his career.
