Diamondtequilashot moved smartly first-over and rolled to a convincing victory in Wednesday’s (Oct. 21) feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 fillies and mares conditioned pace.
Diamondtequilashot was third near the three-quarters, when Tony Hall sent her after the leader Touchamatic. The seven-year-old daughter of Palone Ranger and Straitequilanite overpowered that rival and held off the late rally of Crisp Mane to down her by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:51.2. Lakeisha Hall shot the Lightning Lane for show.
Bill Rhoades trains the winner, who extended her lifetime bankroll to $334,674, for Rick Senger.
It was one of three victories for Rhoades on the 13-race card. Trainer Dirk Simpson, who enjoyed a three-bagger Tuesday, added a pair of Wednesday wins.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Friday (Oct. 23), when the 13-race program features an $83,673.46 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
