Ford Summit Series Continues

Sunday's 13-race card at Georgian Downs was packed full of first leg divisions of the Ford Summit Series for $6,000 claiming pacers, each worth $4,800.

Driver Aaron Byron picked up three series wins beginning with Buckshot Austin ($30.90) upsetting his division in 1:55.4 for trainer Keith Jones and Bob Watts ($5.10) scoring in 1:54.3 score for trainer Des Tackoor in back-to-back races. Ashley Nostadt trainee Pacific Prince ($2.60) later prevailed in 1:54.2 to give Byron the triple.

Driver James MacDonald also made multiple trips to the winner's circle during the series' first leg with Schooner ($16.90), who won his division in 1:54.1 for conditioner Bruce Goit, and Shawn Irvin trainee Grinfrom C To C ($2.10), who dead-heated for the 1:55 win in another split with Mario Rivest's Rockin On Over ($8.50) and driver Jason Ryan.

The other divisions were won by: Bordeauxs Best ($4.10) and Anthony MacDonald in 1:55.2 for trainer Rick Zeron; Rashabec ($3.20) and Billy Davis Jr. in 1:56.1 for Mike Weller; Amazing Quest ($10.20) and Paul MacLean in 1:55.1 for Brittany Robertson; Charmbo Willie ($5.40) and Sylvain Filion in 1:54.2 for Charles Ward; Brass ($30.40) and trainer-driver John Thomson in 1:55.2; Cracker Stoney ($4.20) and Jonathan Drury in 1:56.1 for Carmen Auciello; Sudbury Downs' Harvest Series champion Hidden Hall ($3.50) and Tyler Moore in 1:55 for Rene Allard; and Mister Grin ($72.50) and Robert Shepherd in 1:54.3 for Robert Reid.

The pacers will return to Georgian Downs next Sunday, Oct. 28 for the second leg of the series.
