A $20,000 claimer only two races back, Mud Pie Hanover launched a relentless first-over move that carried her to victory in Friday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace
at The Meadows.
Mud Pie Hanover was sitting fifth down the backside when Eric Ledford sent her on her uncovered bid. She overtook the leader, Red Star Hottie, before the three-quarters and scored in a sharp 1:52.1 on a “good” track. Red Star Hottie persevered and saved place, 4-1/2 lengths back, with the pocket-sitting Tremor Hanover third.
Jason Robinson trains Mud Pie Hanover, a five-year-old daughter of Allamerican Native-Mud Hen who now boasts $193,309 in career earnings, for Robert Main.
