The Tuesday, Oct. 21 card at Red Shores Summerside Raceway has no shortage of class headlined by a deep $4,300 top conditioned pace in race 12.
The 13-dash card gets underway at 6 p.m. (ADT).
The featured field of six includes Truro Raceway invader American Risk, who will line up from post four for trainer George Rennison after two recent wins and a solid third-place finish over the Nova Scotia half-miler in 1:55.2 for owner Risky Bizz Group of Truro, N.S. The 52-time winner was victorious in 1:53.2 earlier in the season over his home base at Truro Raceway. Brady Sweet will be in the driver's seat behind the nine-year-old American Ideal-Kissing Bandit gelding for Tuesday’s contest.
His opposition includes Howmac Exclusive (Corey MacPherson), who has hit the board in his last five starts at Summerside for trainer Leslie Waite, from post two, and Paul Biggar trainee Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy), who beat this class two weeks ago and is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post five.
The field also includes Freemans Legacy (Jaycob Sweet), Howmac Maximus (Paul Langille) and Doc Awesome (Adam Merner) in what should be one of the most evenly matched tilts of the evening.
The "Backstretch Beat" puts American Risk on top as he looks for his 11th win of the season: “American Risk is a classy campaigner who has spent most of the year tackling tougher company and finds a softer landing spot here. A proven winner over nearly every Maritime surface, he’s more than capable of wiring this field if he gets to the front early. Expect Brady Sweet to fire him off the wings and try to control the tempo from there.”
Race 11 precedes the feature with a purse of $3,650 for upper-end pacers. Howmac Charmer is the top selection with post four for catch-driver Adam Merner and trainer Kyle Williams. His top rivals include Louie The Great (MacPherson) and Brokeandoutofgas (Langille).
