In a paddock interview during the Monday night airing of Race Night on The Score, trainer Ben Wallace gave fair warning to the connections of all the starters in the Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt and

Gelding Pace this Saturday night at Woodbine Racetrack.

Bay Of Sharks, a son of Cams Card Shark, hasn't been in the spotlight to the extent that many of the continent's top Glamour Boys have this season. Nonetheless, the colt has been a solid competitor when he has taken to the track. From 15 starts this year, Wallace's student have amassed a record of four wins, four seconds and four third-place finishes, good for over $200,000 in purses.

This past summer, Bay Of Sharks captured an elimination heat of the Confederation Cup in 1:52.1 over Flamboro Downs. He recently lowered his mark to 1:51.3 while prepping for the Breeders Crown eliminations at Woodbine. Bay Of Sharks proved razor sharp in that elim, as he put work in on the engine through solid fractions before getting beat by a late-pocket-pulling Mr Wiggles.

"I think that he's a horse that's very well positioned," Wallace said during the interview. "He wasn't staked lucratively all summer, so we had to pick our spots. He's not beat up at all, and if some of those other guys start to read some of their press clippings and get stupid up front you never know what might happen.

"I know Totally Western won the Breeders Crown as a two-year-old and paid $90. This horse is very similar in profile to that, so you never know. It's still a horse race, and like I suggested, if some of those other guys get a little silly, I know we're going to be around at the wire."

The trainer went on to say that, "we can be very opportunistic right now and have some luck. We're hoping to get a good draw and a good trip out of it all."

The draw for the Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Pace will take place Tuesday afternoon at Woodbine Racetrack. Trot Insider will post complete details of the post draw once it is finalized.
