Jennifer Main, who has been on a roll lately at Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center in Hastings, Michigan, won the third race on the Wednesday, Oct. 1 program, with Lauren Harmon finishing second to complete the all-lady driver exacta, a first at the track.

Solar, owned by Sally Wadsworth and trained and driven by Main, went coast-to-coast in the conditioned trot. Meanwhile, Harmon, who owns, trains and drives Emerald Chip and recently joined the Northville driver colony on a more regular basis, got away fourth but was shuffled to sixth and was locked in for most of the mile. Coming down the stretch, Emerald Chip shook loose and got up for second, 1-1/2 lengths behind Solar. Stoneborough (Bart Stimer) was third.

“I didn't know who shook loose late because I didn't see anyone coming last I looked," said Mainafter the race. "Then when I saw it was [Harmon], I thought that was pretty cool, I told her 'Nice job, Lauren.'”

In addition to her recent driving success at Northville, including two consecutive all-age track records with Two Birds Onestone, Main recently received a promotion from her provisional driver’s license to her full license from the Michigan Gaming Control Board and United States Trotting Association.

Kody Massey had the hot hands on the program with five driving wins. His victories came with Word To The Wise ($4.40), Miss M A K ($25.80), Stay Salty ($33), Brians Rockndawg ($9.40), and Chanceitlikeitis ($3.60). Massey has tallied 108 wins this year.

Trainers Paul Cloer Jr., Massey and Gerald Malady each had two wins on the 11-race card.

Racing at Northville Downs at Barry Expo Center returns next Tuesday, Oct. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 8 with a first post time of 1 p.m. each day.
