Canadian Racing's Leaders With A Quarter To Go

As the 2025 harness racing season passes the three-quarter mark, Trot Insider provides an update on the national leaderboard for drivers and trainers. 

Austin Sorrie continues to lead all drivers this year for wins in Canada on the brink of his first 300-win season. The 2020 Future Star Award winner took the lead early in 2025 and now has 297 wins. He ranks 12th among all North American drivers.

James MacDonald, four-time reigning Driver of the Year and the nation's current leading money-earning driver with $6,124,250 in purses this year, is closing in with 289 wins in Canadian races. 

Samuel Fillion rounds out the top three for wins with 283 successful drives while the top three money-earners include Louis-Philippe Roy ($5,789,335) and Bob McClure ($5,487,339).

Jodie Cullen has maintained her place atop the trainer standings for both wins, with 168 successful starters, and stable earnings of   $2,297,823. Her win count puts her in the top 10 in all of North America. 

Kyle Fellows has sent out winners of 126 races with his trainees earning $2,250,114 to take over second place in each category. Rounding out the top three, Francis Guillemette has 105 victories and Gregg McNair's starters have earned $2,215,678.

Guy Gagnon still leads the URS rankings with an impressive 0.476 as a driver and has also taken the top spot in the trainer category at 0.473. Marc Campbell (0.406) and Brandon Campbell (0.403) are second and third for drivers while Mandy Archer (0.465) and Landon Campbell (0.406) complete the top three trainers.

***All statistics include Canadian starts from Jan. 1, 2025 to Oct. 2, 2025, with a minimum of 195 starts for URS.
