Off at 9-1 odds, Tellit Russ Tellit struck an upset victory in the Wednesday, Oct. 2 feature, a $9,500 conditioned pace for horses and geldings, at Flamboro Downs.
Travis Cullen moved the Jodie Cullen student out of the gate, getting away third through the opening quarter in :28.1. Tellit Russ Tellit maintained his position in third through the half in :57.1 before moving first over on the move towards the pacesetting favourite, Crazy World (Austin Sorrie). The three-year-old gelding was still third on the outside at the three-quarters in 1:24.4. Cullen urged Tellit Russ Tellit forward and he responded, moving past his rivals and going on to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:53.4. Wilcat Rocky (J Harris) took second and Crazy World had to settle for third.
Unraced as a freshman, Tellit Russ Tellit (Tellitlikeitis-Anna D) moved his career record to 6-4-1 in 15 starts. A1stable owns the winner. He paid $18.70 to win.
