It’s only fitting that a horse named Hes Spooky ($2.80, Jon Roberts) would be building momentum in the same month as Halloween.
The six-year-old Cantab Hall stallion notched his second straight win Wednesday at Harrington Raceway with a 1:57 effort in the $19,000 Open Trot.
Hes Spooky set the fractions of :28.2, :58.2 and 1:28.1 while second choice Can Do (Victor Kirby) chased throughout. In the stretch, Hes Spooky held Can Do safe for a two length win. Blueridge Tornado was third.
The victory was the eighth of the year for Hes Spooky, who is trained Doug Lewis and owned by Rojan Stables, L A Express Stable, Alan Kaplan and Howard Taylor.
It was one of four driving wins on the program for Roberts.
Ross Wolfenden had three wins.
