Almost No More Bs Wins Marquis Open

Almost No More Bs made his provincial debut in Saskatchewan a winning one as he rallied from last to first in the $1,700 Open Pace on Friday night at Marquis Downs

Almost No More Bs began his career in Ontario and made appearances in Kentucky before heading to B.C. and then Alberta. In his Saskatchewan debut on Friday night, the six-year-old son of Real Desire-Paula got away near the back of the pack from a Post 8 start but used a :28-second final frame to propel himself to the lead in the stretch. Trained and driven by Jamie Gray, the 1-2 favourite stopped the clock in 1:58. Dance Step (Greg Manning) finished three-quarters of a length behind in second and Whitesand Lord (Brian Gray) was third.

Jamie Gray also co-owns the winner with Neil Malloch of Wetaskiwin and Grant Noll of Calgary, Alta. Almost No More Bs notched his seventh victory of the season in 25 outings and lifted his earnings to $41,980. Lifetime, the bay gelding has banked $252,440.

Trainer Shawn Worthen teamed up with driver Glenn LeDrew to score three wins on the 10-race program with Invincible Yankee (1:59), Camstellation (2:02.2) and Oral Fixation (1:59.3).
