TSM Photo Bugger followed his cover beautifully and then brushed through the lane to capture the $22,500 Preferred Handicap Trot at a juicy 10-1 during Friday night's harness racing card at The Meadows.
Nosed out at the wire last week by Sir Caviar, TSM Photo Bugger saw an opportunity for revenge when Sir Caviar broke stride early. The five-year-old SJs Photo-Rewarding Wink gelding used the first-over cover of Jessesjo, kicked past leader Fox Valley Smarty in the stretch, and scored for Mike Wilder in 1:54.1, matching his lifetime mark. Rembrandt Spur shot the Lightning Lane for second, one and a quarter lengths back, while Fox Valley Smarty saved show.
Jan Fread trains TSM Photo Bugger, who now boasts $187,348 in lifetime earnings, for owner/breeder Ted Tomson.
Dan Charlino drove four winners on the 15-race card while Wilder, Fread and Eric Ledford each enjoyed a three-bagger.
