The drive to Fraserville, Ontario proved to be a profitable one for trainer/driver Barry Treen on Tuesday, as three horses from his own outfit visited victory lane
at Kawartha Downs.
Treen, who moved his stable from British Columbia to Ontario earlier this Spring, tacked on a catch-driving victory with the Brett Riley-trained Tritri to register a driving Grand Slam on the 11-race program.
Heza Promise got the ball rolling for Treen’s barn thanks to his gate-to-wire score in 1:55.3 in Race 2. Inspired Art also used a “catch me if you can” approach to win for Treen in 1:52.1 in Race 4. Mr Ontario capped off Treen’s training triple thanks to his off-the-pace tally in 2:00.3 in Race 9.
Treen’s barn is one the verge of hitting the $250,000 mark in 2010, while his lifetime total recently went over $2.6 million.
