It’s now three wins and counting from the last four trips postward for pacer Reel thanks to his Tuesday evening triumph in the $11,500 Preferred 2 Handicap at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

The streaking Reel got away third and stalked pacesetting Rise Up Now through panels of :27.1 and :56.1 before going into ‘attack mode’. The gelding rushed first-over in the backstretch and gained the lead while racing parked past the three-quarter pole in 1:24.4. Reel kicked home in :30 en route to winning by 1-3/4 lengths over Buckeroo in 1:54.4. Bank Shot Hanover was third.

J Harris mapped out the winning trip for the six-year-old son of Shadow Play-Desir, who is owned and trained by Tim Myers of Leamington, Ont. He and partner Michael Hale of Livonia, MI have watched him manufacture an 8-for-29 record this season. The 19-time winner has banked more than $125,000 to date.
