Southwind Amazon won with on-the-engine tactics from driver Stephane Lareau in the $6,500 feature pace, tripping the timer in 1:55 over Solid Performance (Guy Gagnon) and F Twenty Two (Clark Steacy).
A recent claim by Fabian Vata of Kanata, Ont., Southwind Amazon (Camluck-Artoonist) is now two-for-three for trainer Luc Loyer. Lifetime the five-year-old gelding has won 17 races and more than $227,000 in purses.
Rocky Boy was victorious in the Ottawa-area oval's top trotting class for the first time since May, confidentially striding gate-to-wire for Jacques Beaudoin in 1:57.3 over Cabertoss (Gord Brown) and Michelangelo (Lareau).

Not to be outdone, trainer Gerard Demers scored himself a hat trick at the Ottawa oval with three winners from his stable: Cyndalianne Duc in Race 2, Doing Some Damage in Race 9 and College Major in Race 10.
