Bill Sartin's A Nashty Business ($20.20, Ross Wolfenden) was a 1:57.2 winner in the $17,500 Open Trot Wednesday (Oct. 17) at Harrington Raceway.
The Joe Hundertpfund Jr. trainee opened up a sizeable lead on the field heading to three-quarters and held off Theresademoninme and Mr Right. It was the sixth win of the year for A Nashty Business, a nine-year-old Armbro Nash gelding.
In the $11,000 Open II, Wade Wyatt and Francis DiMondi's Common Parlance ($40.60, Sean Bier) was a 1:57.4 winner.
Driver Mike Cole won three races to tie Victor Kirby in the driver standings; they have 97 wins apiece. Art Stafford Jr. is in third.
Trainer Joe Columbo had two wins and all but clinched the training title with 39 wins at the meet with just three days remaining. Hundertpfund and Wayne Givens round out the top three.
