Meetyouatmidnight prevailed in his first start in the local Open Pace at Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Saturday night.
Brittany Robertson owns and trains the four-year-old pacer who set a lifetime mark last weekend in the $13,000 Winners Over at the Spa. Drawing the rail for his debut in the $18,000 Open, Meetyouatmidnight sat the pocket to longshot Spinarama (Austin Siegelman) before pacing by him in the stretch en route to victory in 1:52.2. Spinarama was the runner up while JK Panache (Jim Devaux) came on for third.
Bruce Aldrich Jr. piloted the Open winner who paid $7.50 to victory. The win time matched the career mark set just last weekend by the son of American Ideal.
